Running Order of songs and ideas for chat

Welcome everyone to the show - introduce tonights theme - favourite ladies, 30 minutes of Divas and tales.

1) Shirley Bassey- Goldfinger

  • The greatest of the Diva's, the Welsh wonder

  • Played her on my last show with a tale of how my nana introduced me to her music as a little boy, well this one remind me of my remarkable Mum, and how she has always loved me, championed me and accepted me just as I am.

2) Jane McDonald - Dance yourself Dizzy

  • love her cruising shows

  • my dream to meet her - fan club member - funny tale of having to get a postal order to join which I'd never heard of, and the lady in the post office nearly falling  off her chair when I told her who it was to be made out to.

  • Jane's own favourite song (written by her boyf!)

3) Elaine Paige & Barbara Dixon- I Know him so well

  • two divas for the price of one

  • driving to Globalls Brighton Marina with Mum in the dark belting this out.

  • Telling mum angrily "Elaine, I'm always Elaine!!" when she sang the wrong part - now a catchphrase in our house.

4) Celine Dion- All by myself

  • My go to sad song

  • Not the original but definitely the best

  • I own 17 different versions of this song, always play it when i'm  feeling alone - my mum once remarked if it is because I own 17 versions that I'm alone! made me laugh.

5) Dolly Parton - 9-5

  • Love this, love her

  • Play it every day on my way to work (although I sing 3-9 as I work 3am-9am!)

  • Style Icon

  • Recommend the film "Dumplin" if your a fan, excellent feel good film and fabulous Dolly soundtrack.
